WATER USE LICENSING

Section 21 of the National Water Act specifies 11 water uses that require licencing. This licencing can be achieved through a Water Use Licence or General Authorisation (GA), depending on the extent of the use and other factors. Staff and associates of Scherman Environmental have undertaken water use licensing for a number of developments, both at a site-specific and larger regional scale. Dr Scherman’s experience in the Ecological Reserve is of value for developments, e.g. dams, where water is to be abstracted from a water resource.
